    Bike parts clutter the floor space: frames, chains, handlebars, derailers, stripped naked and ready for reassembly. Sixty-seven wheels, some bent like Dali clocks, hang from the ceiling. “Low flying cyclecraft,” a nearby sign reads. Then, another, hand-painted: “Be Patient, We’re Busy Trying To Save The World”—a lofty statement that captures the Co-Op’s mission perfectly.

    At OU, lacrosse is not a varsity sport. The team exists within the realm of the club sports universe. Carving its own niche into this campus’ athletic echelon is something that the team has been doing consistently since 1991.

    Passion Works was originally set up in 1996 after several short term residencies and grants from the Ohio Art Council. In 1998, David Barba, Passion Works administrator, went to the board and asked for further funding. From there, the Passion Works Studio and store were opened for good. Passion Works recently celebrated its tenth anniversary.

    At the end of the year, after Bobcats pack up to head out for the summer–whether it be back home or to the working world–there’s sure to be a gross amount of furniture, appliances, clothing and food that are no longer needed or wanted. Students’ first thoughts might be to trash these miscellaneous items, but the junk they’re tossing could be immensely helpful to folks around the community. Several businesses are looking to provide that help, and they urge students to donate their possessions rather than trash them.
