Websh!t: vbs.tv: the anti-television station
VBS.tv is leading a mutiny against the “mainstream media,” by providing fast, smart and ballsy coverage of all things music, culture and news. This online broadcast network streams over 35 all-original series, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Since director Spike Jonze and crew launched VBS.tv in February of 2007, they have covered wars in Sudan and Iraq, bought a dirty bomb in Bulgaria and most recently toured North Korea. Those adventures and more are part of the witty and informative series, “Vice Guide to Travel.” In the series “Balls Deep,” a nerd nicknamed “Baby Balls” investigates subcultures from the “sewer kids” of Bogata to the “leather men” of New York City. For a comedy experience, something like abusing superglue, there is “Hotdogs!” A low-budget, sketch comedy show full of green screen shenanigans, which are not fit for a mature audience. The team at VBS says their mission is to “exploit every utopian vision the internet has thus far failed to live up to.” Take a break from conventional cable and get informed and entertained via VBS.
